A Love for Theatre Passed Down
For as long as I can remember, the magic of theatre and music has been a part of my life—quite literally in my genes. My grandmother worked at the Bristol Hippodrome, so I was lucky enough to experience the thrill of live theatre from a very young age. My mum, a professional dancer, founded the Georgina Pay School of Dance, where I first laced up my dance shoes and learned the discipline and joy of performance. Today, I’m proud to collaborate with her school, keeping that special family connection alive for the next generation. My dad, a talented musician, even played at the legendary Marquee in London—so creativity, rhythm, and a love of the stage were simply part of my upbringing.
A Life on Stage, a Heart in Music
That early spark quickly grew into a calling. By my teens, music and performance were at the very heart of who I was. At 14, I was honoured to win the Hertfordshire Young Musician of the Year award as part of an original duo, and soon after, I recorded my first album. At 16, I was recording and co-producing my own solo album, performing live on the radio, and playing regular gigs in the local scene. At 17, I took my music across the Atlantic, touring Ontario, Canada—from busking on the streets to performing at festivals, soaking up every lesson and every moment.
Turning Challenges Into Inspiration
Life’s greatest roles aren’t always on stage. After meeting my husband and starting our family—including the challenge and joy of welcoming three premature babies—I found new ways to channel my creativity. I wrote and released “Tiny Hands” in support of Bliss, the charity for babies born premature or sick. The song reached #1 on iTunes Easy Listening and even charted officially—a reminder that music, can move mountains.
From Performer to Mentor
As much as I loved performing, I discovered my true passion was helping others find their own spotlight. Whether mentoring young musicians or teaching workshops, I found nothing compared to witnessing a student’s confidence blossom as they mastered a new skill or took their first bow.
Building a Family-Focused Academy
Founding Cassana Performance Academy in Hertfordshire was a dream born out of those experiences and my family’s legacy. My husband and I wanted to create more than just a training centre—we envisioned a vibrant, family-friendly community where children of all ages and abilities could discover the joy of performing arts. Our studios are filled with light, laughter, and the energy of students who come from across Hertfordshire, north London, Essex, and Cambridgeshire. Our in-house Café, which is run by my husband, is a place for families to connect and relax, while our annual shows and summer schools celebrate every student’s growth and creativity.
A Personal Touch, Every Step of the Way
I personally handle every inquiry and get to know each family, because I believe in the power of genuine connection. Whether your child dreams of the West End or simply wants to dance for fun, they’ll find a second home here—one where they’re supported, challenged, and celebrated.
Our Mission, Our Promise
Cassana Performance Academy exists to bring the art of performance to the next generation—instilling confidence, creativity, and community spirit in every student. This is more than my career; it’s my calling, shaped by a lifetime of music, theatre, and family. I can’t wait to welcome your family into ours.
